Our Staff

Tina – Financial Coordinator

I joined the team in 2002 as a Treatment Coordinator, and I later transitioned into the role of Administrative Coordinator.

My son is currently in treatment, so I have a firsthand perspective in understanding the needs of our patients and their families.  My 20 years’ experience in orthodontic practices has prepared me to help our patients with the insurance processes and financial arrangements for investing in orthodontic treatment.

I am active with my son’s Boy Scout troop.  I have a close-knit family and enjoy our many family activities.  I am crazy about the Seahawks.

Tami – Scheduling Coordinator

I started with Dr. Sullivan’s team in 2005 as the Treatment Coordinator. My experience as a parent of an orthodontic patient, as well as having treatment by Dr. Sullivan as an adult, has provided me with an understanding of the experiences of our patients and their families.

I have 18 years’ experience as a treatment and scheduling coordinator dealing with the insurance processes and financial arrangements for investing in orthodontic treatment. My daughter and I enjoy visiting different towns in Washington, trying new restaurants, spending time with friends and family, and our cat Luna.

Heather – Clinical Coordinator / Clinical Technician

My role at Sullivan Orthodontics is to provide direct support to Dr. Sullivan and our clinical team so we can provide the highest quality care. I strive to keep the clinic running efficiently so we can make the most of your appointment time.

I have been at Sullivan Orthodontics since 2008 and still love it as much as my first day. I became a clinical technician in Scottsdale AZ, 1999. I have been cross-trained in many roles over the years which allows me to provide the best care to patients and families at all points on your orthodontic journey. I am recognized by the American Association of Orthodontics as a Specialized Orthodontic Assistant and have my certification in CPR.

I have been married since 1996 to my husband Robert and have two children Lillian and Sterling, all four of us have been lucky to have beautiful smiles because of Dr. Sullivan. In my free time I enjoy traveling and exploring WA with my family and my dog Mannie. I look forward to seeing you in our office and watching your smile transform.

Logan – Clinical Technician

I started with Sullivan Orthodontics in 2017 and have loved every minute. I graduated in 2015 from Smokey Point Dental Institute, were I received my dental assisting certificate.

I really enjoy working with patients and making them feel comfortable during their appointments. I try to spend as much of my free time outside with my dog Tiller. He is always keeping me busy. I also enjoy hiking, cooking, baseball, and traveling.

Before dental assisting school, I spent over a year backpacking through Australia and Asia. My favorite part was playing with baby elephants in Thailand!

I look forward to meeting you.

Danielle – Clinical Technician

I have been in the dental field since 2002 and Orthodontics since 2004. I knew orthodontics was for me when I began treatment at age 10. It was all so interesting and was a fun environment. Working at Sullivan Orthodontics is exactly that.

I am recognized by the American Association of Orthodontics as a specialized Orthodontics assistant and have my CPR certification.

When not working I enjoy spending time with my husband Kyle and our two girls, Avery and Macie. We love to travel, bowl, camp, and spend time with our family and friends.

Sally – Lab Technician

I started with Sullivan Orthodontics in 2001 as a clinical technician. In 2004 Dr. Sullivan sent me to Great Lakes Orthodontics In New York to learn functional appliance fabrication. I learned how to make our acrylic appliances, retainers and soldered appliances. In 2009 I went on maternity leave and took some years off to have and raise my two beautiful children. I returned in 2016, I really enjoy working for Dr. Sullivan and cannot imagine being anywhere else.

I enjoy watching my children play sports, camping, gardening and working around our “mini farm”.

Frequently Asked Questions:

The consultation typically lasts about 45 minutes.

The first 15 minutes of the consultation is dedicated to taking full orthodontic records including photos and x-rays at no charge which will assist our orthodontists in planning you or your child’s treatment.

During the next 30 minutes you will meet our orthodontist and have a  1-on-1 discussion with our treatment coordinator about possible orthodontic treatments. During this time, you will have the opportunity to discuss any orthodontic and dental problems you may be concerned about.

There are 5 essential questions that we will cover during the consultation:

  1. Is there an orthodontic problem, and if so, what is it?
  2. What treatment options are available to you to correct the problem? (i.e. braces, Invisalign, expander, etc.)
  3. What is the estimated length of treatment?
  4. What is the total cost of treatment?
  5. What payment options are available?

No, the consultation is completely FREE. This includes an examination, all photos and x-rays (orthodontic records), and a 30 minute consultation with our treatment coordinators and orthodontists.

We want you to be completely comfortable and well-informed in your decision making process.

There are no hidden fees. The entire consultation, including all photos, x-rays and the assessment by our orthodontist are completely free.

The cost of your treatment will vary depending on your specific dental requirements. Once we complete a new patient exam and create a treatment plan for you, you will meet with a treatment coordinator to discuss the costs and payment plans available to you. We will work with you to create a payment plan that is tailored to your needs and budget.

Yes! Kindly give us a call and we will try our best to accommodate you. If our schedule permits, we may be able see multiple family members back to back.

Of course! Second opinions are welcome! We hope that at the end of the consultation, you are educated, informed and able to make the best decision for you and your family.

Our services are provided by orthodontists. Orthodontists are dentists who, after finishing 4 years of dental school, then went to orthodontic school for another 3 years for extensive training with braces, Invisalign, expanders, bite correction appliances, etc. The only thing our doctors do – all day, every day – is straighten teeth! Our orthodontists will straighten teeth on hundreds of patients per year and thousands of patients in their lifetime.

On the contrary, most general dentists don’t do any orthodontics. The few that do treat only a handful of cases per year, and usually these cases are very simple cases (ie. retreatment of a patient who previously had braces but stopped wearing their retainers and teeth shifted slightly).

Orthodontics is something you only want to go through and pay for once, so trust your smile to a specialist 🙂

If you are in need of treatment, an orthodontist will recommend an appliance specific to your dental needs. Some of the treatment options available include: traditional braces,  clear braces and Invisalign.

Treatment times vary depending on your specific course of treatment, but with the new cutting-edge technology, the average treatment time is 18-24 months.

Brush your teeth by using a regular soft toothbrush. Brush down from the top and then up from the bottom on each tooth; always brushing away from your gums. Use a gentle sawing motion to work the floss on each side of the two teeth the floss is between. Be careful not to pull with too much force around the archwire.

That varies per patient but there is new technology that uses memory shape, heat activated wires that work without needing painful adjustments, decreasing the amount of office visits necessary to complete treatment. The average time between visits can range from 8-10 weeks. As you come close to finishing treatment, the doctor may want to see you more often, typically between 4-6 weeks during your last few months, to fine tune your final tooth movements.
